Cleanliness, Truth and Simplicity

Dear friends,

Om shanti. Sometimes when I have visited people’s homes, I find they are very cluttered.  Sometimes there’s nowhere to sit.  If you have extra things, you have to take care of them, which requires your time and attention.  Cleanliness, truth and simplicity are principles of a spiritual life, and they apply to our external world and to our internal world. These principles include not competing with anyone or having any desires in my mind.

If there is dirt sitting in front of you, just clean it.  You can use spiritual understanding to sweep the dirt off. It’s an honorable thing to clean something.  When I have the aim of keeping my life clean, others will see that and become inspired.

With love,

BK Janki
